What we collect
Account. Email, display name if you set one, and a session cookie after you sign in. Sign-in uses a one-time code emailed to you.
Catalog notes. Email and topic if you subscribe, plus an unsubscribe link on every note.
Analyze. The public URL you submit, job status, and optional payment identifiers from Stripe if you choose Process now. We do not store your full card number.
Saved listings and reviews. Listings you save, and any review text you post if that feature is enabled on a page.
Usage. Page path and a coarse visit count so we can see which listings are read. We do not sell a profile of you to advertisers.
Vendor sites we fetch
When a URL is analyzed, CitewareBot fetches public HTML, images, and linked public pages (pricing, about, terms on that vendor’s site). That is the vendor’s public information, not your private account at that vendor. See CitewareBot.
Who we share with
We use processors to run the product: hosting and database, Cloudflare R2 for images, Postmark to send mail from [email protected], Stripe for Process now, and the AI providers configured in admin (today OpenAI and Anthropic) to write listings from the public pages we fetched. We do not sell your email list.
If we find a public product mailbox on a vendor site, we may email that address when a listing is created or goes live. That mail is about their listing, not a purchased lead.
Cookies
We use a session cookie to keep you signed in and a short-lived token so you can see an analyze job you started. Widgets on other sites do not set a Citeware login cookie on the host page.
How long we keep it
Account and listing data stay until you ask us to delete them or we close the account. Analyze jobs and payment references stay as long as we need them for the queue, abuse prevention, and bookkeeping. Newsletter mail stops when you unsubscribe.
Your requests
Email [email protected] to correct an account, export what we have on you, unsubscribe, or ask us to delete an account. We may keep a minimal record if the law or a payment dispute requires it.
